I've been looking/waiting for this for a long time. You expressed my beliefs and 'hills' perfectly and I'm so grateful. Sometimes in our current culture here in the U.S. for sure -- it's very very difficult to find other people who hold the beliefs and priorities you enumerated. I'm now 78 years old, feeling weak and isolated -- partly because of a slow recovery from salmonella poisoning -- and this, your messages and poetry, will help me in all ways. Thank you!

Thank you for yet another bulls-eye writing. You may already be aware of this, but there is a mining project (plutonium) that the donald fast-tracked for approval. It is in the Black Hills, on Lakota land. It will use an estimated twelve million gallons of water per day, water that will be permanently unusable, among other ecological disasters. This land is sacred to the Lakota people and has never belonged to the US. The mining company is Dewey-Braddock. Trump is salivating.

Thank God it is Tuesday and I can choose what hills time climb at least the ones I have a choice on. I am clear that is always not the case. Virgo season for this Aquarian mother, grandmother and elder always rattles me a bit. I have a new book out that I have assured my self that the impact will not be felt until 50 years or so down the road. being ok with that allow me to write with freedom and abandon. I will always remember the first time I encountered your column, in the summer of 1994 in Eugene, Oregon, while my psyche was in a process of disintegration and transformation. Your Gemini horoscope for that week helped me to know that I had kindred spirits and that there was profound meaning in the upending I was experiencing. I am so grateful for these many years of enjoying your wild, wacky wisdom. Thank you. 🤍✨
I remember protesting the Vietnam war when I was in the 6th grade. My father had just returned from his second tour in 'Nam' and we were stationed in England. Before that we were staying with my mother's people in Deep South Mississippi during desegregation in the 60's. These experiences were brutal but shaped me into the fighter I am today. I, too, pick my battles carefully, conserving my energy for the most opportune moment.
My father said it's why he taught me to play chess at such an early age. So I would think strategically and stay two steps ahead of the boys. 😊 I miss his wisdom.
As I read your words today, I could feel my mind rushing out of its protective self confined jail. Yes, as I stand on my ground of values, hope and practicality trying to understand what is going on today and hold that ground your words are a salve to my soul. Thank you.

What a true delight to find this post and to hear how you think about the world. It is so aligned with the things that I also care about and fight for.
