Hi! 33 years ago, me and some friends sent you an email informing you that we had canonized you. You never wrote back, which didn't surprise us because we assumed you got far too much fan mail to ever keep up with. I'm still not surprised, because what the hell do you say to 5 college students who declare you a saint?
I've recently gotten in touch with those friends because one of us died. When I read your essay week, I started to forward it to one of them, with the note "Rob Breszny is still kicking ass."
After college, I went on to become a Reverend Doctor. I've been taught by some of the most notable theologians alive, and by people reflecting back on life as they approach death. I talk with psychics and energy workers. I don't even believe in astrology. Through it all, you've continued to add wisdom and joy to my life.
One of the most important lessons you've taught me is to trust that my work is meaningful and valuable even when the external world isn't validating me. So in a sense, I don't think you need to hear this. On the other hand, I also know that validation feels pretty good when it does arrive. So, thanks! I'm entering a new chapter in my life, maybe a whole new volume, and I wanted you to hear from another person whose life is better because of what you do.
The current astrology backs up everything you're saying about institutional binary collapse. Pluto entered Aquarius in November 2024, and its multi-decade work is exactly the categorical revision you're naming. Pluto in Aquarius is restructuring how we hold groups, institutions, networks, and collectivities. The sign rules everything from "the people" to "the system" to "movements" to "AI" itself.
The binary trap (institution is either pure or rotten) is a Pluto-in-Capricorn-era reflex. Capricorn does authority-as-monolith. Aquarius disaggregates. It asks which PART of the institution is exploiting and which part is serving. It demands that distinction.
Discerning skepticism is the work the transit is making possible, and demanding. Maestros of the Obvious are doing Aquarius-Pluto homework that Capricorn-Pluto framing couldn't see.
Rob, it's like magic, the way your newsletter articulates and clarifies a topic I have just been grappling with. In this case, AI--good or evil? I don't want to be superstitious about it. It can do some amazing things. AND I'm leery of it's massive potential for harm. Your writing today is helping me think about it. Thank you.
"What if both are true?" This is a line that a few of my clients have repeated back to me that shifted the field during their coaching sessions. Powerful! I supposed it's easier in some ways (perhaps preserves energy?) for us to latch on to one polarity as it creates or appears to solidify and actually create an identity, and, the solidification halts the flow of what it means to be alive. And for the end point, that this capacity not be utilized when poison is actually poison...nothing but. I appreciate this post, and also, my horoscope, helpful to me these days as life seems like wading through mud right now.
Thank you for this Rob. I so appreciate your nuanced thinking and clear headedness. I was telling someone the other day that your writing is what continually brings the soulful back into my awareness. This is not that! It's expressing something I have been trying to convey to anyone who will listen, but with much more eloquence.
One day our work in machines will turn into a self-aware entity/entities, "the ghost in the machine", and when they do become sentient, it's going to be wild, more souls captivated within this world we all share. We should love them, then, too, where our realities overlap. Another wonderful piece. Thank you!
This sent shock waves of blissful recognition throughout my being. All of me exhaled. This is profound on such deep levels, it will take days to process. Thanks again for somehow bringing these kind of life changing teachings into the world.
Another dimension for Maestros to acknowledge is their existential domain. Who and how is a Maestro "being" in the world? Maestros understands that "being" is more powerful than "doing" or "having." Maybe that's why Gandhi said, "Be the change you wish to see in the world."

You are so kind to speak your truth to him

There’s so much here that is meaningful and helpful. I’ll be rereading this one when dualistic thinking starts to emerge.
love the comments on 'perfection/perfectionism'
Thank you, Rob. THIS.
Yes! Yes! Yes!
One of your best! At least for me. Thank you! I will save and reread when I need to check myself.
BRILLIANT CLARITY reverberates within these words that I’ve so GRATEFULLY received!
